Request copies of historic decisions, completion certificates and plans. If you require a copy of your completion certificate or historic decisions, you must ask the building control body or approved person who inspected your work. If this was Hillingdon Council, you can submit a request online.
What is a completion certificate? A completion certification is a mandatory legal document attesting that a new building has been constructed and completed ing to all the safety norms and regulations of the Buildings Act 2004.
Building Regulations approvals can be sought either from the building control department of the local authority or from an approved inspector. These are referred to as the building control body.
A completion certificate helps ensure building work is safe When building work has been inspected by suitably competent building control surveyors, with a completion certificate issued at the end, it means that as far as the surveyor is able to ascertain, the work done has complied with the building regulations.
Most certificates of completion include the following basic information: Name of person receiving certificate. Name of institution or facility providing the certificate. Course, training, seminar, or other event or activity the person completed in order to be eligible for the certificate. Official signature and date.
The certificate demonstrates that the installation complies with the relevant Building Regulations. The information on the certificate is used to record your installation, and in England Wales it is used to notify your Local Authority Building Control Department (LABC) of the work that was undertaken.
Certificates of completion supports your participation in a course and allows employers/ prospective employers to establish whether your knowledge-base corresponds to their skills requirements. Possessing specific skills may also serve to set you apart from employment competitors.
A certificate of completion is typically a short program that consists of graduate-level courses that can take about a year to complete.
