Login into your ServiceNow tenant in the search bar type notifications. Now click on the Notifications option under the System Notification. Then click on the New button, to create the new notification.
Add your desired recipients to the Who will receive Tab. Add the desired content to the What it will contain TAB, and save the Notification. Thats It.
Your notification recipients must be active users and have a valid email address defined. ServiceNow users or members of groups must be defined as active users in the User [sysuser] table.Select the content type for the email notification: HTML and plain text. HTML only. Plain text only.
You can send the Notifications either by creating a Notification through System Notifications in Application Navigator and you can trigger them either when record is inserted/update OR when any event runs. Another way is via Workflow, you can use Notification Activity in a Workflow to trigger Notifications.
Send when: Choose Record inserted or updated or Event is fired. Inserted: Select this option to send email when a new record for the Table is added to the database. Available when Record inserted or updated is selected. Updated: Select this option to send email when an existing record is updated in the database.
You can do this in the notifications. Go to System Notifications - Email - Notifications and click on New to create a new notification. Refer to below screenshot. Once this is created, then you are all set.
With the Notifications tab, you can: Use a global switch to enable or disable all your notifications. Enable or disable a particular channel for receiving notifications, as well as create, edit, or delete channels. By default, your primary email address is automatically added as the Channel Primary Email.
