Our National Archives Catalog is the online portal to our records and information about our records.
The National Archives offers the AAD database as a free public resource and it can be accessed from anywhere.
Go to the Catalog main page at: .archives.gov/research/catalog/. Conduct a search for the records of interest to you. You can search by keyword, National Archives Identifier (NAID), or type of archival material.

Using The National Archives reference library Our library is open to the public for browsing and reference only.
The National Archives Museum in Washington, DC, and Presidential Library museums are open to the public without limits on occupancy or days and hours of operation. More information about the National Archives response to coronavirus can be found at archives.gov/coronavirus.
Our building, including our reading rooms and exhibition spaces, is now open to everyone. We encourage reading room visitors to book their visit and order documents in advance, although this is no longer essential. You do not need to book to visit our exhibition, shop or cafe.
Entry to the National Archives museum is free. Reservations are not required for individuals or groups wishing to visit the National Archives Museum, but they are strongly suggested between March and Labor Day to avoid potentially long lines outside.
Anyone can use the National Archives. You do not need to be an American citizen or to present credentials or a letter of recommendation.
