You can use the IRSs Interactive Tax Assistant tool to help determine if you should file an application to receive an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN). To obtain an ITIN, you must complete IRS Form W-7, IRS Application for Individual Taxpayer Identification Number.
Tax Identification Number is a unique number assigned to registered individuals or businesses for the purpose of paying taxes. The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and Joint Tax Board (JTB) are the issuing body for TIN upon successful registration as a taxpayer.
Individuals are automatically assigned with a TIN based on their BVN (Bank Verification Number) or NIN (National Identity Number). To get a TIN as an individual, you need to have a NIN or BVN.
First, you can ask your employer who can verify your TIN using the ereg system. Second, you can email or visit your RDO to verify your TIN. Lastly, you can use the TIN Verifier Mobile Application in your android phone or IOS phone.
Individuals can apply on the JTB website with NIN or BVN (Bank Verification Number) or visit your nearest Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) with Utility Bill, Valid ID (Government Approved) and a Passport Photograph. You can check online to see if you have an existing TIN by clicking here.
Visit .bir.gov.ph, go to eServices and look for the ORUS icon. - Complete the application form online and upload scanned copy of documentary requirements and submit application online. Processing of application is within three (3) working days.
