Turn the display of formatting marks on or off Go to Word Preferences View. Under Show Non-Printing Characters, select the check box for each formatting mark that you always want to display regardless if the Show/Hide. button is turned on or off. Clear any check boxes for ones you dont want always displayed.
Show or hide formatting marks Do one of the following: Show invisibles: Choose View Show Invisibles (from the View menu at the top of your screen). Note: The View button in the toolbar doesnt have this command. Hide invisibles: Choose View Hide Invisibles.
You can fix formatting by copying the formatting from one paragraph to others. Select a paragraph that uses the formatting you want. Choose Format Copy Style (from the Format menu at the top of your screen, not the Pages toolbar). Select some text in the paragraphs you want to fix, then choose Format Paste Style.
If you see a red plus sign in the lower right of your text box (see below), it means that there is too much text (or the font is too big) to fit inside the text box.
Clear formatting from text Select the text that you want to return to its default formatting. In Word: On the Edit menu, click Clear and then select Clear Formatting. In PowerPoint: On the Home tab, in the Font group, click Clear All Formatting .
You cant disable the password completely. However, you can set your Mac up so that you dont need to type in the password every time you unlock the screen.
Blue dots between words, and other blue symbols, are formatting marks (they dont appear in print). Choose View Hide Invisibles (from the View menu at the top of the screen, not from the View menu in the toolbar).
With your document open in Pages on Mac, click View Show Invisibles from the menu bar. You should immediately see the formatting symbols in your current document. And you can use the same action to Hide Invisibles again. A nice feature for the Invisibles in Pages on Mac is that you can change the color.
Not restarting the Mac occasionally.Try any of the following: Quit any programs you arent using. Open a new document then close it. Save close the active document then open it again. Switch to or launch a different program then come back to Word. Quit relaunch Word. Restart your Mac if necessary.
Enter special characters and symbols Click on the text where you want to place the character, then select Edit Emoji and Symbols (or press Control-Command-Space bar). The Character Viewer appears where you clicked. To locate a character, do any of the following: Click a character to insert it in the text.
