While there is no rule that RAW files can never be given to clients, they aren't sent usually due to several reasons. One of the main reasons though is because the RAW files are a sort of digital negatives to a photographer and therefore proof that he/she took the image.
1. Better detail and dynamic range: If you have a high-end camera with a large megapixel count, you will see a noticable difference between the camera's RAW mode and JPEG mode. RAW provides far more image information, allowing you to capture more detail and greater dynamic range from your camera sensor.
So instead of deleting your raw file, keep hold of it. If you need to buy more drives, so be it. If you are positive that you'll never really want to prove authenticity in such situations, then perhaps you can consider using just the DNG format. But, ultimately, I do not recommend deleting your original raw files.
RAW rejects, on the other hand, can be deleted after satisfactory delivery of final products such as a wedding album or portrait canvas, etc. If the client never saw the photo in the first place, and the image is nearly identical to one of the keepers, then there's definitely no reason to keep them around permanently.
Convert your file Open the photos in RAW format, e.g. in Photoshop. Go to 'File' and choose 'Save As' and select from the list '. jpg' (it might appear as JPEG). Choose a compression between 90-100%, otherwise this leads to loss of quality.
They are Unfinished Images. RAW files are unedited and therefore are not an accurate representation of your work or your brand. If you are taking on clients, it is vital that you deliver to them only your very best work.
A RAW file is lossless, meaning it captures uncompressed data from your camera sensor. Sometimes referred to as a digital negative, you can think of a RAW file as the raw “ingredients” of a photo that will need to be processed in order to bring out the picture's full potential.
Most professional photographers don't provide raw files to their client. If you want raw files from your photographer, it normally implies there is something about the photographer's finished product that you don't like, and you should have a conversation with your photographer about your concerns.

Cons of Shooting in Raw Image Format Raw Files Take Up More Space. Being that these files carry more raw information and data, they tend to take up a lot more space than a JPEG file. ... Shooting in Raw Slows Down the Camera.
