Hello, this is Cristi. Today, I want to show you a cool trick in Microsoft Word on cleaning up your text that you bring from external sources and its broken down into weird lines and paragraphs, and it doesnt keep sentences together. So this is typically happening when you bring texts in from for example, audio transcripts or YouTube or video transcripts. Let me show you an example here. This text is in Notepad and it is a transcript of a video. And, you know, when you save that as a text from like a YouTube or some other transcription tool, it could be like this with line breaks where they shouldnt be line breaks because thats when the timestamp tells the video that its a new phrase, so then the transcription software breaks it down like this into different paragraphs. But actually if you look at this, this is actually a single sentence. So it should be really up here instead of down there like that. So when you want to take this text, maybe to create

Empty paragraphs appear as blank lines in your document. To remove them, just select them and delete them. (A paragraph in Word is any text that ends with a hard return.) To delete a page break, click it to select it, and then press Delete.
Move the mouse cursor to the beginning of the line of text you want to delete. Press and hold the left mouse button, then drag the mouse to the right until the entire line of text is highlighted. Press Backspace or Delete to delete the line of text.
You dont have to go through all this to select and delete a paragraph or two. When this is the case, position the cursor at the beginning of the paragraph and press Ctrl+Shift+Down. Doing so will select everything to and including the paragraph mark.
How do I delete a page in Word that wont delete? First of all make a copy of your document. In the copy turn on the paragraph markers so you can see where word is breaking sentences and paragraphs. Then , with paragraph markers showing you should be able to put the cursor in the right place and press delete.
You dont have to go through all this to select and delete a paragraph or two. When this is the case, position the cursor at the beginning of the paragraph and press Ctrl+Shift+Down.
You can remove a single hard return or paragraph mark by dragging over it and pressing Delete.
Select the text with the formatting you want to clear. or press Ctrl + Spacebar.
How do you remove paragraph marks in Microsoft Word? Click on this icon on the Home tab to show or hide formatting marks. Hit CTRL+A to select all the text in the document. Hit CTRL+H to open the Find and Replace window. Type two spaces in the Find what field. Type one space in the Replace with field. Click Replace All.
