Turn the display of formatting marks on or off Go to Word > Preferences > View. Paragraph marks are one of the formatting symbols that can appear automatically when using Microsoft Word. When editing or formatting your document, the marks can be useful indicators of hidden characters. Usually, when you type, you can't see certain characters, like tab marks, spaces and paragraph markers.
Click File > Options > Advanced, and then under Show document content, select the Show drawings and text boxes on screen check box.
Automatic page breaks are added by Word when you move from one page to the next. Manual page breaks can be added anywhere in the document by you to break the document and advance to the next page. You can't remove automatic page breaks, but you can adjust where they occur.
Double-click the page break so that it's selected, and then press Delete.
