Cancel SEVIS Record Search SEVIS to find and open the student record. Navigate to the Student Information page. Click Cancel Student. Select the reason for cancelation from the Cancelation Reason drop-down menu (required). Enter any relevant information regarding the cancelation in the Remarks field.
Note: SEVIS displays a PDSO Record Correction link to change the record from: Canceled to Initial status within 15 days of record cancelation. Active to Initial status within 15 days of record registration.
The students record should remain in Initial status until the adjudication is made. Note: SEVIS will automatically terminate the nonimmigrants SEVIS record for the reason above when the CLAIMS interface indicates a withdrawal. If it does not, terminate the record, use this reason, and explain what happened.
