Can a proforma invoice be cancelled? As a proforma invoice is not a legally binding document, or the official invoice used for accounting, they do not need to be cancelled.
Convert a draft invoice to a pro forma Go to Sales, and then click Sales Invoices. Select the draft invoice. On the Save as menu, click Pro Forma Invoice. If your customer has requested any changes, make these now. Click the required save option.
As proforma invoices are not official invoices (as long as the invoice clearly states proforma), its not necessary to file a credit note to cancel or change them. Once you convert it to a full invoice with an invoice number, youll have to issue a credit note to change or cancel it.
A pro forma is used before goods are shipped and no payment is required. A commercial invoice is sent after the goods have been delivered and now, it is time to pay.
Go to VF02, give the proforma reference and select Billing document -- Complete. By doing so, the status would change to Cancelled.
Heres how to do it: Navigate to the Gear icon. Choose Custom Form Styles. Click New Style and select Estimate. From the Design tab, enter Proforma Invoice as the new title for the form. You can also add additional customization to make the form more personalise. Once finished, click Done.
