Some stores prefer to limit customers contact with pin pads to increase checkout speed and keep the device clean. One way to do that is turning off Passport signature capture feature. Start from the manager workstation and select setup. Then register. Then Register Setup. Select the register you want to change and select change from there. Find the device configuration section and uncheck the electronic signature option. Then tap save. Then you can exit and head back to the cashier workstation. Now customers dont have to perform a signature. Besides, does anyone really sign their name anyway?

Refunded is when you bought something and it didnt work or you changed your mind and you get your money back. Canceled (note the spelling only one l) is when you order something but change your mind and cancel the order. Both cancel and refund can apply to the same transaction.
