Titles (and subtitles) of tables are important structural metadata that guide users through Eurostats online database and are indispensable elements that explain table contents. Short descriptions of predefined tables are important reference metadata, providing basic information about the table contents.
Select your caption then hold down the shift key and select your figure. Right click on either item and choose Group Group.
Every figure and table should have a caption. Here are some tips on using captions: A figure caption is centered under the figure; a table caption is centered above the table (if a caption is more than one line, make it left justified). A Figure and its caption should appear on the same page.
Heres an approach that has always worked for me: Select all the rows in the table. Display the Home tab of the ribbon. Click the small icon at the bottom-right of the Paragraph group. Make sure the Line and Page Breaks tab is selected. Make sure the Keep Lines Together check box is selected. Click on OK.
Tables should be captioned when following the APA style guide. The caption should explain any abbreviations and symbols and cite the source of the table. At the end of the caption, include a copyright statement.
Tables should be: Referenced in the order they appear in the text. Labeled with the table number and descriptive title above the table. Labeled with column and/or row labels that describe the data, including units of measurement.
Table titles help readers understand the connection between tables and the rest of the document. They can also make tables easier to understand when viewed by themselves. Due to these important functions, all our primary style guides offer detailed guidelines for how to write table titles.
Word Click the picture you want to add a caption to. Click References Insert Caption. To use the default label (Figure), type your caption in the Caption box.
Ensure there is an empty paragraph above the table. Click in it, ready to type some text. Ensure there is an empty paragraph above the table. Insert the caption. Now, make sure the title will stay on the same page as the table. Note: Make sure that you dont leave an empty paragraph between the title and the figure.
Table titles help readers understand the connection between tables and the rest of the document. They can also make tables easier to understand when viewed by themselves. Due to these important functions, all our primary style guides offer detailed guidelines for how to write table titles.
