How to format text messages? Bold. To make your text bold, simply put an asterisk in between the text you need to highlight (*). Italic. To make your text italic, put an underscore before and after the text (). Strikethrough. Strikethrough means that your text will have a line all throughout. Inline code.
Plain text messages, by their very nature, dont allow formatting to make bold text. You might use a bold letter alternative if an email message is confined to plain text mode because of how the sender wrote the message, or maybe your email client doesnt support formatting options.
To bold the text in HTML, you can use either the tag or the (bold) tag. Browsers will bold the text inside both of these tags the same way, but the tag indicates that the text is of particular importance. You can also bold text with the CSS font-weight property set to bold.
An . MD is a file extension built on a lightweight mark-up language, used to create plain-text documents that contain no other elements. . MD files are popular amongst technical writers and web developers to easily format text for the web.
Superscript. This isnt common, but some Markdown processors allow you to use superscript to position one or more characters slightly above the normal line of type. To create a superscript, use one caret symbol ( ^ ) before and after the characters.
Make text bold . Click Bold. in the Font group on the Home tab. Type the keyboard shortcut: CTRL+B.
The best boldface alternative for plain text is to use asterisks. Surround the text you want to emphasize with asterisks to make them stand out from the rest of the words. Example include: I will *not* go with you after what you said to me!
Markdown doesnt allow you to change the color of text, but if your Markdown processor supports HTML, you can use the HTML tag. The color attribute allows you to specify the font color using a colors name or the hexadecimal #RRGGBB code.
