If you were to print a copy of your document, and ask a friend to proofread it, theyd probably mark the errors in red pen, and write any suggestions they had in the margins. Wouldnt it be easier if you could do that electronically? In Word, you canusing two features called Track Changes and Comments. Im going to turn on track changes right now so I can show you what I mean. To do this, go to the Review tab then click the Track Changes command. Now any changes I make to the document will appear as markup, which is Words answer to the traditional red pen. For example, when I delete text, it doesnt go away it just gets crossed out. When I add more text, it gets underlined. This lets the owner of the document see what changes Ive made before making them part of the final draft. You can also add comments in the margins by selecting the text you want to comment on then clicking the New Comment command. In this example, it would be best to address the letter directly to the hiring

A defined term used anywhere in the agreement refers to the defined person or entity or process. Definitions breed consistency of reference throughout the agreement. The reader is sure of meaning of a defined term, once she understands it.
Definitions can be conceptual, based on dictionary or reference work meanings, or operational, based on how the researcher is using the term. Terms should be defined alphabetically and lexically or operationally. Sources for definitions should be cited. The definitions should be brief, clear and unambiguous.
Consistent with the phrase, a defined term is a word or term, often capitalized or otherwise distinguished from other text throughout the agreement, that is to be read to include the particular meaning given to it in the agreement.
Here are some examples of how the date of the contract may be included in the introductory clause: This Agreement is made and entered into as of [date], by and between [party A] and [party B]. This Agreement shall be effective as of [date], the date on which it is executed by all parties.
Related to Bold. Conspicuous , with reference to a term, means so written, displayed, or presented that a reasonable person against which it is to operate ought to have noticed it. Whether a term is conspicuous or not is a decision for the court.
For example, an angle is a defined term in geometry, because we can define it as the corners that are produced when two lines intersect. That is, we can define an angle using other geometrical terms (in this definition, those terms are a line and an intersection point).
To sum it up, when it comes to web content you need to use bold or italics, but not the underline (except for the links). The italics are used for weaker emphasis, whereas the bold formatting is for strong emphasis.
Defined terms are included in a definitions and interpretation clause, usually at the start of an agreement, to avoid repetition and ambiguity. They give specific meanings to words that may differ from ordinary meanings. This provides clarity and conciseness.
