Reset passwords on managed nodes (online method) Open the Systems Manager console. In the left hand navigation pane, choose Fleet Manager. Select the node that needs a new password. In the Instance actions menu, choose Reset password. For User name, enter the name of the user for which youre changing the password.
Retrieve your initial administrator password using the Amazon EC2 console Open the Amazon EC2 console, and then choose Instances. Select the check box for the instance, and then expand the Actions dropdown list. Choose Browse, select your key pair file, and then choose Open. Choose Decrypt Password.
For Amazon EC2 Linux instances, the default user name is ec2-user. The public key is stored on the target instance (the instance that the user is requesting access to) in the ec2-user home directory (~ec2-user/. ssh/authorizedkeys).
Step 1: Log in to the server using ssh client of your choice using the private key. Step 2: Setup a password for the user using passwd command along with the username. Step 3: Open the sshdconfig file. Step 5: Now, restart the sshd service using the following command.
The default user for these AMIs is root . There isnt a default password, instead authentication is done by using the SSH key selected during the EC2 creation process.
username: admin. password: SPLUNK-$instance id$ It is recommended that you change your password after login.
What is the default password for ec2? By default, ec2 instances dont have password authentication. You have to use the private key to connect to the instances.
