Security vehicles are permitted to use amber lights under the Georgia state statute 40-8-92. They must complete the appropriate application and submit the $2.00 permit fee. They also require an permit renewal every year.
Laws regarding the use of amber lights vary from state to state, and the only way to know for sure is to look into your jurisdictions traffic laws. That said, the majority of states allow and even encourage the use of amber lights on any vehicles involved in roadside work or assistance.
No person shall mount or display any flashing, rotating or oscillating light of any color other than amber, except blue and red lights as provided in M.G.L.
What is the fee for a Flashing or Revolving Light Permit(s)? A flat fee of $2 is charged for each permit. No fee is required for Volunteer Firemen, City, County, State, or Federal owned vehicles.
Section 25268 CVC states: No person shall display a flashing amber warning light on a vehicle as permitted by this code except when an unusual traffic hazard exists.
Truck vehicles can use emergency amber lights ing to Georgia state statute 40-8-92. Since these vehicles are private property and are not used for law enforcement or emerging fire or medical services, an application must be submitted for amber lights use and the $2.00 fee must be paid.
A permit is required to display amber lights and should be kept on hand and easily accessible whenever driving the vehicle.
Light Coloring In compliance with federal recommendations, all states require headlights to be white or amber. Its usually illegal if any other color of light can be seen from the front of the vehicle. This restriction applies to roof lights, under-glow, and lighting in the engine compartment.
