Hi, Im David Blatner from InDesign Secrets.com and Im going to answer a common question that we hear from new InDesign users. How do I make some text bold? Or italic? For example, here Ill grab the Type tool inside my Tools panel. And then Ill come over here and select some text. Ill just drag over it. Now, to make it bold, I might try and press the universal keyboard shortcut for make it bold, and thats Command-B or Control-B on Windows. But that doesnt make it bold here. Instead, up comes the Text Frame Options dialog box. Now, this dialog box lets you control all kinds of things about the text inside your text frame. But it does not help you make text bold. So, Im going to cancel that by clicking the Cancel button. Instead, there are three ways to make text bold in InDesign. The first way is to press Command-Shift-B or on Windows its Control-Shift-B. Adding the Shift key makes it work. But, theres kind of a problem here. A lot of fonts are in families that have more t

The use of all capital letters (All-Caps) in legal agreements is a time-honored tradition that extends into the digital age. Once it became accepted as a means to make important contract language conspicuous, it became commonplace and is still heavily used today.
Write the contract in six steps Start with a contract template. ... Open with the basic information. ... Describe in detail what you have agreed to. ... Include a description of how the contract will be ended. ... Write into the contract which laws apply and how disputes will be resolved. ... Include space for signatures.
Android: Tap and hold the text you're entering in the text field, then choose Bold, Italic, or More . Tap More to choose Strikethrough or Monospace. iPhone: Tap the text you're entering in the text field > Select or Select All > B_I_U. Then, choose Bold, Italic, Strikethrough, or Monospace.
We use bold for emphasis, when we want to make sure that our reader sees and takes in certain words. The main examples are: Keywords, for example in a dictionary, where each headword is usually in bold.
Document users sometimes think that every instance of words that are given a defined term should be capitalised. That is not the case. Capitals should only be used if the term is used in context of the definition. Sometimes we want to use the same words with the everyday meaning, and not the defined meaning.
Bold text. Bold text, sometimes referred to as emphasized text, should only be used to convey information labels and should always be paired with a colon (:). Bold may also be used to label a topic within a table or chart without a colon as long as no other non-bold words follow the words which are in bold.
Capitalized words by convention usually mean defined terms. For example, “XYZ Corporation ('Client') promises to….” allows the rest of the contract to use “Client” instead of the full name. The same applies to other defined terms.
The “Definitions of Terms” ensures that your readers will understand the components of your study in the way that you will be presenting them, because often your readers may have their own understanding of the terms, or not be familiar with them at all.
Select the text that you want to make bold, and do one of the following: Move your pointer to the Mini toolbar above your selection and click Bold. . Click Bold. in the Font group on the Home tab. Type the keyboard shortcut: CTRL+B.
Definitions clauses, also known as contract definitions, are the defined terms in a legal document. Drafting definitions clauses mitigates the chance of misunderstanding interpretations among the parties. The defined terms section should be unambiguous and written in plain language.
