Verifying the ink cartridges are installed properly and/or cleaning the print head may resolve this issue. Verify the ink cartridges are installed correctly. Print the Print Quality Check Sheet and look at the nozzle check pattern. If print head cleaning is needed, following the machines display instructions.
Cleaning the four color print heads (black, cyan, magenta and yellow), adjusting the vertical alignment and/or replacing the ink cartridges may improve the print quality.
A common cause of faded or faint printouts from your inkjet printer, is dried ink particles causing a blockage. The printheads on an ink cartridge can be become blocked if the printer is not used for a period of time, so it is recommended to print a few pages each month to maintain the print quality.
Here are the most common causes of a printer printing faded text or images: Low ink or toner levels. Toner sticking to the fuser roller or problems with the transfer roller. Low ink or toner density settings.
Clean the primary corona wire inside the drum unit by gently sliding the green tab located the top of the drum unit, from left to right several times. Return the green tab to the home position before reinstalling the drum unit assembly.
A printers heads, nozzles, and other components can become dirty or clogged, which could show up as white lines running across your page. Your printer may have a head-cleaning feature available through your device software located on your computer or from the control panel on the printer itself.
If the unit is located in a dirty environment then there may be dust on the laser lens which will cause faded print. It could be a High Voltage Power supply issue or drum contact issue but the first two suggestions are the most common.
Wipe clean the cartridge carriage where the cartridge connects to remove any dried ink (make sure the printer is off and unplugged). If the printhead is built into the printer, clean where the ink comes out with a damp cloth. Re- cartridges and run a print head cleaning process.
