Bold text. Bold text, sometimes referred to as emphasized text, should only be used to convey information labels and should always be paired with a colon (:). Bold may also be used to label a topic within a table or chart without a colon as long as no other non-bold words follow the words which are in bold.
To bold, italicize, or underline, select the text you want to change. Then, select the Bold, Italics, or Underline button in the Home tab as shown below. Applying the formatting twice removes the formatting. For example, selecting bolded text and then clicking the Bold button will remove the bold formatting.
Bold is used to highlight the text and capture the readers attention. The bold tag is used for strong emphasis. When you feel like emphasising something, you need to first consider using italics, only use bold text if you are not satisfied by the emphasis the italics did to your text.
Just hold the CTRL key and double click the words you want to bold to select them. Then click the bold or CTRL+B. Of note, Word can also find similar formatted text and change at once.
How to format text messages? Bold. To make your text bold, simply put an asterisk in between the text you need to highlight (*). Italic. To make your text italic, put an underscore before and after the text (). Strikethrough. Strikethrough means that your text will have a line all throughout. Inline code.
