Using bold typeface is the most common way of highlighting any part of a document. Bold typeface is an instant eye-catcher, and it makes any highlighted text immediately accessible to the reader. However, one should not overdo the use of bold highlighting, as it can make the document look unbalanced.
Bold text. Bold text, sometimes referred to as emphasized text, should only be used to convey information labels and should always be paired with a colon (:). Bold may also be used to label a topic within a table or chart without a colon as long as no other non-bold words follow the words which are in bold.
The adjective bold can also be used to describe a particular typeface that is thick, dark, and confident. Bold type is usually used to emphasize something strongly in writing.
Use a professional font. Its not necessary to use large fonts or to use bold, italics, underline or multiple text colors, etc. to emphasize your point. Emoticons or Emoji are often viewed as unprofessional and childish even though they do convey tone.
Bold is used to highlight the text and capture the readers attention. The bold tag is used for strong emphasis. When you feel like emphasising something, you need to first consider using italics, only use bold text if you are not satisfied by the emphasis the italics did to your text.
Bold: Use bold for your most important words and points. Whereas italics is used for emphasis, bold should be used to capture attention. Underline: Underlining text is unnecessary and can make it look like youre linking to something. Underlining will only confuse your client.
Theyre intended for emphasis and if everything (i.e.: a whole paragraph) is all caps/bold/italic, nothing is emphasized. Italicization is used for gentle emphasis, bold is used for heavier emphasis. All caps are another alternative means of emphasis.
Using bold and italics in emails is necessary only when you want to highlight the important message, or key word. Using bold letters in emails may sometimes give negative impression, bold words means negative in some situations, so use bold letters wisely in email.
