okay so first of all go to home and then editing and replace and were going to find the word butt and replace it with the word the then go to more and format and highlight and then replace all and its made 866 replacements so what this is doing is finding every single occurrence of the word the in this document and then replacing it with the word the but highlighted so in this way we can highlight every occurrence of the word ver in this document now the color that is chosen is the color in this box here so if you want a different color you need to select it then in order to avoid actually having to highlight something click on the box again and then this time well go to editing and replace and well find the word and the highlighting is still applied and then there are some options down here which you can choose from so for example if I select match case this will make it case sensitive so it will matter whether the letters are capital letters or not then you can also select find

To make text italic, select and highlight the text first. Then hold down Ctrl (the control key) on the keyboard and then press the I on the keyboard.
Click File Options. In the Excel Options box, click Proofing AutoCorrect Options. On the AutoFormat As You Type tab, check the boxes for the auto formatting you want to use.
Verify that Ctrl+B is correctly assigned to the Bold command. Look in the Customize Keyboard dialog box (File tab | Options | Customize Ribbon | Customize). As an alternative, try using Ctrl+SpaceBar (which clears direct font formatting from the selection), or you could try Ctrl+Shift+Bold.
Select text by using the mouse. Note: To select an entire document, do one of the following: On the Home tab, in the Editing group, click Select, and then click Select All. Move the pointer to the left of any text until it turns into a right-pointing arrow, and then triple-click.
To make text bold, select and highlight the text first. Then hold down Ctrl (the control key) on the keyboard and press B on the keyboard. To make text italic, select and highlight the text first. Then hold down Ctrl (the control key) on the keyboard and then press the I on the keyboard.
Press Ctrl+B. Word indicates that you want to find bold text. Click the Find In option and choose Main Document. Word selects all the bold words and phrases in the document.
Click Find in the Editing group or press Ctrl+F to open the Navigation pane. From the text dropdown, choose Options and then check the Highlight All setting (Figure B), and click OK. In the text control, enter video and press Enter. Word will automatically highlight all instances (Figure C).
The easiest way for me, is: Highlight the block of text you wish to style and use the shortcut keys. Ctrl+B: bold, Ctrl+I: italics. The first time you use the shortcut it applies the attribute, use the shortcut again, and it reverses things back to the way they were.
In Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word Select the line that you want to change. Under Drawing Tools, on the Format tab, in the Shape Styles group, click the arrow next to Shape Outline. Point to Weight, and then click the line weight that you want.
In the text, select each number level (not the paragraph. Actually click one of the numbers), and press Ctrl+spacebar to clear any direct formatting. If the text now looks the way you want it to, update the TOC. If the unwanted bolding is gone, youre done.
