Type the keyboard shortcut: CTRL+B.
Part of this text is written \textsl{in a different font style} to highlight it. If you want to go back to normal font style (default for the LaTeX class you are using), this can be done by using the \textnormal{} command or the \normalfont switch command.
\textbf{\textit{Some bold-italic, \textmd{non-bold italic}, \textup{non-italic bold}, and \textmd{\textup{{upright\slash non-bold} text}}.}
You should be able to remove any explicit formatting from the TOC itself by selecting the entire TOC and pressing Ctrl+Space Bar and Ctrl+Q. This works because, again, the explicit formatting (which was transferred by Word) is removed and the underlying TOC styles show through.
\textbf{\textit{Some bold-italic, \textmd{non-bold italic}, \textup{non-italic bold}, and \textmd{\textup{{upright\slash non-bold} text}}.}
By using the \sffamily command, we switched to the sans-serif typeface. The \bfseries command switched the text to bold. We used the \normalfont command to return to the default LaTeX font, and then we used the \ttfamily command to switch to a typewriter font.
Italicizing a text can be useful to emphasize a sentence or specific text in a technical or non-technical document. We have provided information on two different methods for italicizing a text. LaTeX also allows you to bold and italicize a text all together using \textbf{} and \textit{} source codes.
