hello this is Tommen in this video Im going to show you a couple of different ways to calculate the x and y-coordinates of the holes in a bold circle for this example were using a six inch bolt circle with 12 holes equally spaced on that bolt circle now we know that a circle is 360 degrees so if we divide it by 12 equal spaces we come up with 30 degrees between each hole now the first hole right here at 3 oclock is at 0 degrees and were going to work our way in a counterclockwise direction as we calculate the XY coordinate of each bolt hole and for this example the x and y 0 is right in the middle of the bolt circle and also if I turn on the axis you can see that 4 of these holes are laying right on the X and the y axis at 0 degrees at 90 degrees at 180 degrees and at 270 degrees so it is fairly easy to determine the x and y values of those four holes so lets see what they are all right so the distance from the X 0 y 0 to the center of the hole at 0 degrees is 3 inches so the x

A bolt circle connects the center lines of geometrical elements that form a circular pattern. The center lines must be circular, single-slot, or double-slot center lines. You can draw, split, and update bolt circles. To draw a bolt circle, 1.
A bolt circle diameter or pitch circle diameter (PCD), sometimes simply called bolt circle or pitch circle, is a common term for when a number of screw holes for bolts are evenly distributed with their centers along an imaginary circle with a given diameter.
Chainrings are sold by number of bolts and PCD or BCD, which is the same thing and stands for Pitch Circle Diameter or Bolt Circle Diameter. Easier than diameter to measure is the centre-to-centre distance between two adjacent bolts.
