How to create and edit a . LOG file. Press the Windows key and search Notepad. Open the application and type . LOG. on the first line of the black page. Press ENTER to move to the next line. Click the File button in the top left-hand corner and hit Save As. Give your file a name and click OK.
ZIP files work in much the same way as a standard folder on your computer. They contain data and files together in one place. But with zipped files, the contents are compressed, which reduces the amount of data used by your computer. Another way to describe ZIP files is as an archive.
Locate the file which you want to unzip. Right-click on the file and the context menu will appear with the list of options. Select the Extract Here option to unzip files into the present working directory or choose Extract to for a different directory.
Right-click on the file or folder. Select Compressed (zipped) folder. To place multiple files into a zip folder, select all of the files while hitting the Ctrl button. Then, right-click on one of the files, move your cursor over the Send to option and select Compressed (zipped) folder.
Locate the file or folder that you want to zip. Press and hold (or right-click) the file or folder, select (or point to) Send to, and then select Compressed (zipped) folder. A new zipped folder with the same name is created in the same location.
Saving Logs as Zip Files Select a log in the View Logs table. Note that this action is also available when viewing log details. Click Save as Zip. The application displays a standard Windows dialog box. Select Save to Disk and click OK. Specify where to save the log file.
You can compress the log files by setting the serviceLogFileCompression Storage Node parameter. This helps to store docHubly more logging output in the same amount of disk space. As a result, the logs can be retained for a longer period, rendering their availability for debugging purposes.
