Hi, Iamp;#39;m Briana with freeCodeCamp and today weamp;#39;re going to be talking about the Binary Numeral System, also known as a bunch of 1amp;#39;s and 0amp;#39;s over and over again. Weamp;#39;re going to start by labeling, starting backwards, how many numbers there are. This will be zero, one, two, three, four, five, six. Pretty straightforward so far. The next step that weamp;#39;re going to do is: Take two to the power of whatever place it is. So here, itamp;#39;ll be two to the power of zero, two to the power of one, two to the power of two, two to the power of three, you get the picture. Alright, now that weamp;#39;ve got the two to the given power figured out all we got to do is fill in some lengths and weamp;#39;ll have our solution. Two to the power of zero is one. Two to the power of one is two. Two to the power of two is four. Weamp;#39;ve got 8, 16, 32, 64. And that just keeps going on and on. Next what weamp;#39;re going to do is see which ones of these numb

Uppercase letters start with 010 and lowercase letters start with 011. The letter a is 01100001. From there, count the number of the letter and write that number in binary. For example, the letter d is the fourth letter (100), which is written as 01100100 in binary.
A binary file is a file whose content is in a binary format consisting of a series of sequential bytes, each of which is eight bits in length. The content must be interpreted by a program or a hardware processor that understands in advance exactly how that content is formatted and how to read the data.
Each 1 or 0 in a binary number is called a bit. From there, a group of 4 bits is called a nibble, and 8-bits makes a byte. Bytes are a pretty common buzzword when working in binary. Processors are all built to work with a set length of bits, which is usually this length is a multiple of a byte: 8, 16, 32, 64, etc.
In most computer systems, a byte is a unit of data that is eight binary digits long. A byte is the unit most computers use to represent a character such as a letter, number or typographic symbol. Each byte can hold a string of bits that need to be used in a larger unit for application purposes.
Each character is represented in ASCII. And each ASCII code can be represented in binary code. The space character is also represented in ASCII. So the sentence hello world would be 0110100001100101011011000110110001101111(00100000)0111011101101111011100100110110001100100 .
The byte is a unit of digital information that most commonly consists of eight bits. Historically, the byte was the number of bits used to encode a single character of text in a computer and for this reason it is the smallest addressable unit of memory in many computer architectures.
1 byte is equal to 8 bits. Digital information is stored in units called bytes, with eight bits each. The byte is the tiniest unit of memory which is addressable in different computer systems as it was historically the number of bits needed to encode a single text character in a computer.
An 8-bit binary number is known as a byte. Or, one byte consists of 8 bits.
