Crooks is the stable hand who takes care of the horses and lives by himself because he is the only black man on the ranch. Along with Candy, Crooks is a character used by Steinbeck to show the effects of discrimination.
Toward the end of the novel, Aunt Clara appears to Lennie in a vision which seems to represent the worst parts of his conscience and self-doubt, reprimanding him for his bad and foolish nature and attempting to make him believe that George is going to abandon him.
She was described as a little fat old woman who wore thick and round glasses. Aunt Clara is first mentioned in the beginning of the book when Lennie says he remembers a woman who used to give him mice to pet in the past. She could be seen as the person who enhanced Lennies fondness of touching soft animals.
He is calm and thoughtful; all of the other men look up to him and value his opinions. Slim empathises with other characters, particularly George, whom he treats kindly after he shoots Lennie.
Answer and Explanation: Although she was dead before the story started, she appears to Lennie as a hallucination in the final chapter of the book, when he is distraught over accidentally killing Curleys wife.
Curley represents the land-owning class in his aggressive dominance and forceful authority around the ranch. Although it is his father who actually owns the ranch, Curley asserts his power through fear, control, and isolating the workers.
Aunt Clara Lennies aunt, who cared for him until her death, does not actually appear in the work except at the end, as a vision chastising Lennie for causing trouble for George. By all accounts, she was a kind, patient woman who took good care of Lennie and gave him plenty of mice to pet.
Although shes never shown in the book, she seems to be a very nice and caring woman to Lennie. She is very caring because she took care of Lennie until she passed away.
