iamp;#39;ve only got 60 seconds so i better crack on after marking off a couple of measurements on some 10 millimeter brush rod i fitted what iamp;#39;m calling an indexing collar and slid it into my hex collar block the indexing collar was adjusted to be horizontal and then locked off using a three millimeter ball ended cutter i took six passes rotating the collet block one flat each time using the indexing collar i rotated the job 90 degrees and then ran another six passes indexing by one flat at a time as before to give me 12 flutes back on the lathe i drilled a shallow 3.3 mil hole and tapped m4 i shaped one side of the knob with a form tool and trimmed the unwanted flutes from the base i swapped tools and parted off and then fitted an m4 grub screw and returned it to the chuck i finished the shape using the same form tool on the other edge after a quick buff to soften the sharp edges all that remained was to choose a grub screw suitable length and thread lock it in place and tha
