Update Recipients should be used when you want to set up a recipient as a reviewer of the signer information. They can specify details for role recipients and update information for named recipients.
Select Specify Recipients from the Actions drop down. Select Add recipient to add the role recipient. Add a role name. Do not add the signers name or email even if they are known.
How to Add Recipient to After Sending? Once you have logged into your account and accessed the document youve sent, look for the Manage option. Click on Manage to reveal a dropdown menu where you can select Recipients. Within the Recipients section, you will see an option to Add Recipients.

A Recipient Role is a position that is defined to identify a user. This could be something such as Pharmacist or Manager. This is not the same as Access Level, which determines a users permissions (you can learn more about this here).
Yes, when in the tag or field portion of the envelope creation process, if enabled, you can add an Attachment tag/field to the envelope document. This allows the Recipient (that it is color coded to) to add an additional document to the envelope. Here is a article that shows the attachment field.
The status for each recipient is similar to the overall envelope status options: Needs to Sign - The recipient has not yet signed. Signs in Person - The In Person signer has not yet signed. Copy Received - The email notification was sent to a cc: recipient.
