If you need to delete space in xml or make any other basic change in your document, choose a document editor that has the features for you to deal with ease. Colon is a reserved character in XML identifiers, and may be used only for binding XML Namespaces. There is no way to escape it for other purposes.
In XML documents, there are two types of whitespace: docHub whitespace is part of the document content and should be preserved. IndocHub whitespace is used when editing XML documents for readability. These whitespaces are typically not intended for inclusion in the delivery of the document.
As per the XML guidelines, the attribute xsl:space=preserve must be added to the tag. The queries below demonstrate XML data that has been loaded into Snowflake. With the added attribute, the parsed version now preserves the leading and trailing spaces in the tag value.
The substring( ) function returns the substring of s starting at index and continuing for length characters. The first character in the string is at position 1 (not 0, as in Java and JavaScript). For example, substring(Charming cat , 1, 5) returns Charm .
