Open a new Writer document. Click Insert Frame to create your first photo frame. To resize the frame, simply drag the edges to your desired size. Once you have your frame, you can insert your photo by right-clicking on the frame Insert From File and then select your photo.
Just in case, Ill sum up my above post: Insert a placeholder image in your ODT template. Position it the way you like the final Image to appear. Name the image. Use the Java-Code I posted above to substitute the placeholder by.
