Remove password protection from an Excel file To remove password encryption from the file, open the workbook and enter the password in the Password box. Then click File Info Protect Workbook Encrypt with Password. Delete the contents of the Password box, click OK, and then save the file again.
On the info page, click on the Protect Workbook box. Select the Encrypt with Password button from the drop-down menu. Delete the password from the pop-up window that appears so the text box is blank. Then, click the OK button to remove the password from your Excel spreadsheet.
If you forget your password, you can use a third-party software called PassFab for Excel. Step 1: Import locked Excel file. Step 2: Select any of the password attack modes. Step 3: Get the Excel password back.
How to Unlock Protected Excel Sheets Without a Password Change the Extension Type to a Zip File. Open the Zip File. Open the Protected Sheet in Notepad. Remove the Protection HTML Code. Add the Edited Sheet to the Zip File. Change the Extension Type to an Excel File. Verify the Sheet is Unlocked.
Open the encrypted Excel spreadsheet and enter your password in the text box of the pop-up window. Click on the File tab in your toolbar, then select the Info button from the drop-down menu. Choose Protect Workbook, then click Encrypt with Password. Finally, delete the password from the text box and hit OK.
If you know the password for the protected sheet, removing protection is a matter of seconds. Just do any of the following: Right-click the sheet tab, and select Unprotect Sheet from the context menu. On the Review tab, in the Changes group, click Unprotect Sheet.
Follow these steps. Change the Extension Type to a Zip File. In File Explorer, edit the file name. Open the Zip File. Open the Protected Sheet in Notepad. Remove the Protection HTML Code. Add the Edited Sheet to the Zip File. Change the Extension Type to an Excel File. Verify the Sheet is Unlocked.
the file just opened. Do not extract the files, this requires 7zip to be installed. Right click on the excel file. Mouse to 7-zip Open Archive. Double click on the xl folder. Right click on the workbook.xml and click on Edit. Look for the line of code Close the text file and save it. Close 7-Zip.
