Blacking Out Text Manually Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the ab highlighter icon in the Font section. Click the black box in the drop-down menu. Click the black line below the highlighter icon. Repeat this process of highlighting with black to cover text.
Select Review Track Changes to turn it on. Make edits in your document and Word captures any edits you make. Select Review Track Changes to turn it off. Word stops making new edits, and any made stay in the document.
Click and drag your cursor through the text that you want to modify, which highlights it. Highlighting the text means that any formatting or editing tools you use are going to affect that section alone. While highlighted, click the Font color button, then the Strikethrough button. This text is now redlined.
To format a message, select Format , where you can: Select Bold. to enter bold text. Select Italic. to enter italic text. Select Underline. to enter underlined text. Select Strikethrough. to strikethrough text. Select Highlighter. Select Font Color. Select Font size. Select Rich style editor.
Go to Review Track Changes. When Track Changes is on, the section is highlighted. Deletions are marked with a strikethrough, and additions are marked with an underline.
Expert Tip #1: If you made a mistake and need to remove your strikethrough, simply highlight your crossed out text and click on the strike through command to remove it.
On a PC, use the following shortcut to strike through text: Select the text you want to strike through. Press Ctrl+D. A font dialog box will appear. Press Alt+K. The strikethrough feature should now be selected. Press OK. The text will now have a line through it.
