3 Simple Ways Remove Ink Stains from Wooden Furniture Method 1: Use dishwashing liquid. Prepare a dishwashing liquid solution. Swipe the cloth into the prepared foam. Method 2: Use baking soda. Make a paste of baking soda. Clean the wood. Method 3: Use white spirit. Clean the surface.
Melamine Foam (a.k.a. Magic Eraser) When used gently, magic erasers will help to remove permanent marker spots off finished wood surfaces. Avoid hard scrubbing, as it can damage the finish, but gentle spot treatments will lift the stain in no time at all.
Ive had great luck using rubbing alcohol to remove most felt-tip permanent pens. You could also use fingernail polish remover, but that may take of some of the stain or woods finish.
#4 91% Isopropyl Alcohol After the Acetone debacle, I was very cautious when applying this. Eventually, it only took a few seconds of scrubbing for the ink stain to be completely removed from the wood. It did a great job with only minimal change to the finish.
The term ink blotter refers either to a handheld rocking device or simple blotting paper, both used to absorb excess ink when writing with fountain pens. Blotting paper is a textured, thick paper specifically made to quickly absorb excess ink.
Apply a solvent like rubbing alcohol, hair spray, or hand sanitizer to an inconspicuous area of the garment with a cotton swab and let it sit for 1 to 3 minutes. Blot with a paper towel, and if no color comes off on the towel, continue to pretreat. Blot excess ink with a paper towel to remove ink from clothes.
To blot out is to cover or hide, especially with ink or paint. Sometimes building owners will blot out graffiti by covering it with paint, and other times theyll attempt to scrub it off with soap.
Take some baking soda, mix it with warm water and create a paste. Use a damp cloth to spread the paste over the ink stain, and rub back and forth until the ink comes out. Do a final pass over the area with a clean, wet cloth to remove any lingering solution.
