so while I was making a video to teach macros in the vile software I came across this interesting Behavior with the text action as you can see here Iamp;#39;ve set up a macro to essentially hold the shift key as this hello world text is inserted and then released soon after when I do this macro the hello world text will be all capitalized as though it is affected by the shift modifier at this point I reckon that in this particular context the text is sort of typed in which is why itamp;#39;ll be affected by any held modifiers prior but when I introduce even a single capital letter in the text action like so it will no longer get affected by the held shift key and will instead acknowledge the uppercase letters in the text so if I do this hello world with a bunch of capital letters vile will behave as though itamp;#39;s pasting the text and not typed so to keep things simple if the text action is in lowercase it gets affected by held modifiers as though itamp;#39;s typed but if there
