Heres how to do this in Preview on Mac: Open the image file in Preview. Select Tools at the top and select Adjust Size. Select Custom from the Fit into drop-down. You can now adjust the height, width, and resolution of your image. Select OK once you are done adjusting the image.
Remove the background from an image In the Preview app on your Mac, click the Show Markup Toolbar button (if the Markup toolbar isnt showing), then click the Instant Alpha button (or use the Touch Bar). Drag over part of the background.
