To escape quotes in Google Sheets, you can use a backslash () before the quote. For example, if you want to enter Hello world in a cell, you would enter Hello world in the cell. This will ensure that the quotes are not interpreted as a formula or text formatting.
How to split text in Google Sheets Select the column or cell range with the text you want to split. Click Data, and then select Split text to columns. In the Separator pop-up that appears next to your selected text, click the dropdown. Click your delimiter: Comma, Semicolon, Period, Space, or Custom.
To add a line break within a formula, follow these steps: Double-click the cell containing the formula to enter edit mode. Place your cursor where you want to insert the line break within the formula. Press Ctrl + Enter (Windows) or Command + Return (Mac) to add the line break.
In your Google Sheets select the area and go to FORMAT ----- NUMBER ----- PLAIN TEXT. Now the formulas will not work anymore! The way to do this is by adding an apostrophe () before the + symbol, as written in Silver Ringvees answer.
Press Ctrl + C (Windows) or Cmd + C (Mac) to copy the displayed value in the cell. Then, use Ctrl + Shift + V (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + V (Mac) to paste the value back into the cell without its formula. This effectively removes the formula but keeps the value.
On the Data validation rules panel, under Criteria, select an option: Dropdown from a range: Choose the cells to include in the list. Dropdown: Enter the dropdown value. Tip: Remove any leading/trailing whitespace in dropdown options to allow multiple dropdown selections.
Select the cell or range of cells containing the formulas you want to convert. Press Ctrl + C (Windows/Chrome OS) or ⌘ + C (Mac) to copy the selected cells. Without changing your selection, press Ctrl + Shift + V (Windows/Chrome OS) or ⌘ + Shift + V (Mac) to paste the values only.
Classic way to convert formulas to values in Google Sheets Copy the data by pressing Ctrl+C (for Mac its Cmd+C) on your keyboard. Then press Ctrl+Shift+V (for Mac its Cmd+Shift+V) to paste everything back as values: Tip.
