headers and Footers are a great way to include branded or common information on every page without impacting the formatting of your document you can insert a header or footer in two ways the first is by going to the insert tab of the ribbon then over on the right hand side select header or footer the second option is to double-click in the header and footer space which will open the editor without having to use the menu in the header and footer editor tab there are options to automatically add page numbers time and date document info such as file location and author and insert pictures you can also toggle between the header and footer easily and change the pages where the headers are shown and adjust the sizes to close the editor either double-click in the body space or hit close header and footer from the ribbon we have more videos on Microsoft Word on our channel so check out the playlist And subscribe for more

Add and remove headers and footers in Pages on Mac Click in a page where you want to add headers and footers. Move the pointer over the top or bottom of the page until you see the three header or footer fields, then click one (you can use any combination of fields to complete your header or footer).
To disable Link to Previous, follow these steps: Go to Layout Breaks Next Page and insert a break wherever you want to switch to different header or footer information. Tip: To see section breaks and other formatting marks, go to Home and select Show/Hide () to turn on the display of formatting marks.

Turning headers or footers off removes the content from all headers and footers in your document. In the Document sidebar, click the Document tab. Deselect the Header or Footer tickbox.
Click or tap the page at the beginning of a section. Select Layout Breaks Next Page. Double-click the header or footer on the first page of the new section. Click Link to Previous to turn it off and unlink the header or footer from the previous section.
