Its there because your page content is not tall enough to fill the browsers viewport.
On a traditional website, a visitor would scroll down to see the information at the bottom of a webpage in the footer. However, with a sticky footer (sometimes known as a fixed footer) that information is always present at the bottom of the visitors web browser as the visitor scrolls down.
The footer is anchored at the bottom of the page using CSS position: sticky property. Position: sticky keeps the footer visible while scrolling. This design provides consistent navigation and information placement throughout scrolling interactions.
You can stick a footer to the end of an HTML page by setting the position property to fixed on the footer in your CSS.
However, with a sticky footer (sometimes known as a fixed footer) that information is always present at the bottom of the visitors web browser as the visitor scrolls down. They do not have to get to the bottom of the page to see it.
An element with position: sticky; is positioned based on the users scroll position. A sticky element toggles between relative and fixed , depending on the scroll position. It is positioned relative until a given offset position is met in the viewport - then it sticks in place (like position:fixed).
A sticky footer is a component that is pinned to the bottom of the viewport in desktop browsers. It stays visible when the user scrolls the page up or down.
