How to Take a Photo With a Blurred Background? Set your camera to aperture priority mode (A or AV). Open your aperture as wide as you can (smallest possible f-stop number). Move your subject away from the background. Get close to your subject or use your lens to zoom in on your subject. Take your photo.
A shallow depth of field is the small or narrow area in an image that is in focus. Often, the background is blurred while only the subject stays in focus. This shallow or small depth of field can be achieved by increasing the aperture or rather lowering the f/ number.
Shallow depth of field yields blurrier backgrounds and can work well for portrait photos. By decreasing the depth of field, and increasing the aperture size you can create this blur. You can also achieve this blurring effect by changing the camera-subject distance and adjusting the focal length of the lens.
DOF refers to how much a photograph appears to be in focus. If the main subject is in focus, but the foreground or background is blurred, the photo is said to have a shallow DOF. If most all of the photo is in focus, including the foreground and background, the photo is said to have a deep DOF.
Launch Canva to blur the background of your image online. Upload your photo. Upload your photo by selecting it from your device or dragging and dropping it onto the page. Blur the background. Click Edit Photo and choose Auto Focus to automatically blur the background. Edit your image. Download and share.
The aperture or f-stop is how big or small the opening of your lens is. The quick and dirty version to get the blurred background is to set your aperture as low as your lens will allow. The standard lenses generally only go down to around an f-stop of 4, sometimes a little lower with the right lighting conditions.
To play with depth of field, choose Filter Blur Gallery Field Blur. Youll see a pin in place blurring the entire image. Click an area you want to keep in focus to create a second pin, and then drag its blur dial to zero. Add more pins to set different amounts of blur for other areas.
