so youamp;#39;ve got your nice page and youamp;#39;re adding your background image and wait did you know this is going to be terrible for performance on many levels the way Iamp;#39;m loading this image in CSS here doesnamp;#39;t give me hardly any ability to make sure this image loads fast and sure you could say I can add a bunch of media queries to manually specify different sizes for all kinds of screens but even with this Iamp;#39;m not taken into a couch screen resolution which is equally important or you could say aha I know a trick image set in CSS lets me specify different images for different resolutions youamp;#39;re right and this works okay if the image has an exact width on all screens but for responsive images you need to take into account both the screen size and resolution together this is anywhere from complicated to not possible with CSS so as you might have guessed thereamp;#39;s a better way thatamp;#39;s right good old image tag in modern HTML the image tag

How to reduce JPEG file size on Windows Open the JPEG file with a double click or Right-click file Open With Photos. Click the three dots in the top right corner and select Resize. Choose the recommended settings or Define custome dimentions to resize the JPEG file manually.
JPEGs use a lossy compression process meaning some data from the image is permanently deleted when its made smaller. This could compromise the quality of your file in the long term because each time you edit and save it, you lose more data.
A JPEG file supports up to 24-bit color and uses lossy compression to compress images for more convenient storage and sending. This may make JPEGs better for everyday use, but it does mean sacrificing some of the original image quality.
JPEG compression reduces file size by changing the color values and blocking together groups of pixels with a more uniform color, so that it doesnt have to store as many different ones. While this does decrease the file size, it also alters the true image by changing the colors.
Open your image in the editor, then tap or click on it to open the image editing menu. Select the Adjustments option and then use the Sharpen sliding scale to add clarity to your image.
A JPEG file also has a lot of metadata in each file containing auxiliary information about the image. On an average, this kind of metadata occupies 16% of size of the JPEG file.
Photos that have undergone lossy compression, such as JPEG, cannot be recovered. Photos that have undergone lossless compression, such as PNG, can simply be opened and reexported with a program like Photoshop.
Compressing jpgs removes some of the information from them, so they can use fewer bytes. There is no way to remove the information thats been removed. Resizing the image is irrelevant.
