So Iamp;#39;ve been getting a lot of questions recently about how to better control page numbering in a Pagesamp;#39; document. Sometimes you want to skip pages or have a cover page. So letamp;#39;s take a look at how to get exactly the page numbers that you want. Pages has, of course, two modes. Word Processing and Page Layout. Letamp;#39;s start by looking at Word Processing. Iamp;#39;m going to create a blank document and Iamp;#39;m going to paste in some text here to fill out the document. So as you can see Iamp;#39;ve got a bunch of pages here. To start numbering pages from page 2, double-click on the page number field and set Start from page to 2. You can exclude the first page(s) from numbering. This may be needed if page 1 follows after pages that have no numbers, or have individual numbering as the table of contents in large books.

Continue typing your list, separating each item with a paragraph break. Each new line is preceded by a bullet or number in the format you selected.
Insert a page number in a header or footer On the View menu, click Header and Footer. Click the Print Settings tab. Under Headers and Footers, click Header or Footer. In the Insert AutoText box, do one of the following: To test how your changes will look on the printed form, click Print Preview on the Standard toolbar.
