Point to the top or bottom of a page until the pointer becomes a double-pointed arrow, and then double-click. To hide the margins again, repeat step 1.
There is one more possibility: FileOptionsAdvancedShow document contentShow text boundaries. That would apply to all text, in all documents, when its checked.
Click the File tab. Click Options. Click Advanced. Check the Show text boundaries box.
On desktop, click Layout Margins select a margin preset. For custom margins, click Custom Margins and enter the values for Top, Left, Bottom, and Right. If youre on mobile, tap Home Layout Margins select a preset or Custom Margins. Enter a new value and tap Done.
To show the Ruler at the top and left-hand side in a Word Document, click on the View tab. In the Show section (second from the left), check the box next to Ruler. The gray sections on the ruler represents the margins on the page.
Try it! Select Layout Margins. Select the margin measurements you want. Note: If your document contains multiple sections, the new margins apply only to the selected sections.
Show the rulers Go to View and select Ruler. If the vertical ruler doesnt show, make sure youre in Print Layout view. If it still doesnt show, you might need to turn the ruler on. Go to Word Preferences View (under Authoring and Proofing Tools).
Add a gutter margin for bound documents A gutter margin adds extra space to the side, top margin, or inside margins of a document you plan to bind. That helps ensure that text isnt obscured by the binding. Click Layout Margins Custom Margins. In the Gutter box, enter a width for the gutter margin.
