okay so today in this tutorial we are going to talk about the label control all right so to start off i already have a grid with two columns and three rows so what i want to do next i want to add a canvas to my first column and itamp;#39;s going to grid that well i want this to span three rows so itamp;#39;s going to cover all these three rows here in the first column okay so if youamp;#39;re coming from wind forms you remember we used to do something like this which we still do if you are building a winforms application weamp;#39;ll drag a label to design our form and then resize it anyway that fits our form and drag a text block likewise and uh and adjust it so thatamp;#39;s winformamp;#39;s way of doing it so in reinforce this label only had a text property i believe i remember correctly and we used for displaying just text as label in wpf itamp;#39;s actually a content control which can contain anything so if we want to use for this purpose just like with it in winfo

Creating a WPF Label The Content property of the Label element sets the text of a Label. The Name attribute represents the name of the control, which is a unique identifier of a control. The code snippet in Listing 1 creates a Label control and sets the name, height, width, and content of a Label control.
In WPF, the Label control does not support text wrapping. If you need a label that wraps contents across multiple lines, you can use a TextBlock control. Place a TextBlock control inside a Label and apply wrapping on TextBlock.

Labels usually support single line text output while the TextBlock is intended for multiline text display. For example in wpf TextBlock has a property TextWrapping which enables multiline input; Label does not have this. Label is ContentControl which means that you can set anything as a content for it.
{ Label dynamicLabel = new Label(); dynamicLabel.Name = McLabel; dynamicLabel.Width = 240; dynamicLabel.Height = 30; dynamicLabel.Foreground = new SolidColorBrush(Colors.White); dynamicLabel.Background = new SolidColorBrush(Colors.Black); LayoutRoot.Children.Add(dynamicLabel);
TextBlock is not a control It derives directly from FrameworkElement . Label, on the other hand, derives from ContentControl . This means that Label can: Be given a custom control template (via the Template property).
Step 1: Create a label using the Label() constructor is provided by the Label class. // Creating label using Label class Label mylab = new Label(); Step 2: After creating Label, set the Text property of the Label provided by the Label class. // Set Text property of the label mylab.
