if you want to understand binary you kind of have to understand decimal numbers and what does decimal numbers mean so in the decimal system we have 10 digits 0 through 9. count them with your fingers and we can use place value to describe large numbers so hereamp;#39;s how it works weamp;#39;re all base 10. so we have 10 to the 0 1. 10 to the 1 is 10 10 to the 10 to this 2 is 100 and so forth so if I have the number 3412 thatamp;#39;s three one thousands four one hundreds ten one ten and two ones add that up and you get the right number okay now in binary we only have two numbers zero and one two so our place value are going to be 2 to the zero one two to the one is two two to the two is four two to the three is eight and so forth okay letamp;#39;s do a quick example suppose I want to convert a number from binary to decimal Iamp;#39;m going to make up a one zero one

A binary file often includes some type of header that indicates the type of file. The header might include a few human-readable characters, but a binary file as a whole requires specific software or hardware to read the file and take action.
Binary files are used to store data and are often used in programming. The term binary refers to the file containing a sequence of 1s and 0s rather than letters or numbers like ASCII text.
Uppercase letters start with 010 and lowercase letters start with 011. The letter a is 01100001. From there, count the number of the letter and write that number in binary. For example, the letter d is the fourth letter (100), which is written as 01100100 in binary.
For example, only Microsoft Word and certain other word processing programs can interpret the formatting information in a Word document. Executable files, compiled programs, SAS and SPSS system files, spreadsheets, compressed files, and graphic (image) files are all examples of binary files.
Some binary files contain headers, blocks of metadata used by a computer program to interpret the data in the file. The header often contains a signature or magic number which can identify the format.
In binary numeral system, the decimal numbers 1 to 5 are represented as follows: in binary is 0001. in binary is 0010. in binary is 0011. in binary is 0100. in binary is 0101.
A sequence of memory bits can be interpreted as a binary (base 2) number. For example, the byte 00000001 can represent the value 1, 00000010 can represent the value 2, 00000011 the value 3, and so on. With 8 bits in a byte, we can store 256 (28) different integers (e.g., from 0 up to 255).
