However not everybody knows all the different things that it can do. Let me start off with a simple one. You can get the word count of your document by simply going to View, then Show Word Count or Shift Command W. This brings up the word count at the bottom of the screen. It tells you the word count of the entire document. But if you select some text it will tell you the word count of just that selection. Click the View button in the toolbar, then choose Show Ruler or Hide Ruler.
To enable Alignment Guides, click the Layout tab and select the Align drop down choice in the Arrange section. There you will see the Use Alignment Guide.
To show all guides again, choose View Guides Show Guides.
Adjust the position or zoom level of an image: Double-click the image on the page, then drag it to move it in the frame. Drag the slider to zoom. Reorder images: In the Format sidebar, click the Gallery tab, then drag image thumbnails to reorder them.
To show or hide these guides on document pages, choose View Guides Show Page Template Guides or Hide Page Template Guides (from the View menu at the top of your screen).
You can align objects so they line up along a vertical or horizontal axis. Click an object to select it or select multiple objects. In the Format sidebar, click the Arrange tab. Click the Align pop-up menu and choose an option.
Add gridlines to the table: Click Table at the top of the Format sidebar on the right, then below Gridlines, click the buttons to add or remove gridlines from the table body, from the header rows and columns, and from footer rows.
Hide or show the toolbar Choose View Hide Toolbar or View Show Toolbar (from the View menu at the top of your screen).
