So Guys today we are going to talk about image file format Watch Guys If You Are From Any Field Of Computers So knowing the image file format is very important for you. It is very important so come understand this See if you use a laptop, or use a computer, and use Windows inside it So the image file format of the window is Bitmap But the most popular image file format in the world is JPEG. Means Joint Photographic Experts Group See here I said jpeg as the most popular image file format but did not say bitmap Now letamp;#39;s understand the difference between jpeg and bitmap So the biggest difference between jpeg and bitmap is this, jpeg is a common file format that can be used in any medium And the biggest difference is that JPEG uses lossy compression due to which the size of the jpeg is reduced by 90 percent. The file size is reduced and we get more storage space. So these are the differences due to which jpeg is used the most all over the world. Let us now talk further, see if we

The TIFF file formats use 32-bit offsets, which limits file size to around 4 GiB. Some implementations even use a signed 32-bit offset, running into issues around 2 GiB. BigTIFF is a TIFF variant file format which uses 64-bit offsets and supports much larger files (up to 18 exabytes in size).
TIFF 16 bit is 16 bits per channel. JPEG is 8 bits per channel. So: 16 x 3 = 48 bit.
TIFF FILE FORMAT Unlike JPEG, TIFF files can have a bit depth of either 16-bits per channel or 8-bits per channel, and multiple layered images can be stored in a single TIFF file. TIFF files are an excellent option for archiving intermediate files which you may edit later, since it introduces no compression artifacts.
Both PNG and TIFF files benefit from lossless compression, meaning that no matter how often you save, open, or resize them, theyll maintain their quality. However, TIFF files offer users a choice between lossy and lossless compression, which can help reduce the file size if this is a priority.
Do TIFFs keep RAW data? No. While TIFF is a lossless format, it only stores the processed image. Thats why it has less post-processing flexibility than a RAW file.
When you have an 8-bit image, the pixel values range from 0 to 255. For a 16-bit image, the pixel range is from 0 to 65535. So you can express more nuances in 16 bit than you can in 8 bit. Usually, when you have a 16-bit imager in a camera, it is able to capture these nuances and map them to the full 16 bit range.
TIFF files are lossless, meaning that they do not suffer from any data loss when they are compressed. This makes them ideal for high-quality printing, as there is no risk of losing any detail or quality in the image. They can also store images as a grayscale, CMYK, or coloured RGB image, which is critical for printing.
JPEG images are always recorded with 8-bit depth. This means the files can record 256 (28) levels of red, green and blue. Cameras that support raw file capture offer higher bit depths, usually ranging from 12 to16 bits.
