The term CDATA, meaning character data, is used for distinct, but related, purposes in the markup languages SGML and XML. The term indicates that a certain portion of the document is general character data, rather than non-character data or character data with a more specific, limited structure.
There is no way to ignore the CDATA tag - its part of the xml spec and parsers should honour it. If you dont like the idea of this answer to your earlier question, you could get the contents of the CDATA section and parse it as XML again. However, this is highly not recommended!
If you place a character like
XML files are encoded in plaintext, so you can open them in any text editor and be able to clearly read it. Right-click the XML file and select Open With. This will display a list of programs to open the file in. Select Notepad (Windows) or TextEdit (Mac).
A CDATA section is used to mark a section of an XML document, so that the XML parser interprets it only as character data, and not as markup. It comes handy when one XML data need to be embedded within another XML document.
CDATA is a completely optional way to write an xml element value. it doesnt gain you anything that you cant get from the normal xml element value encoding. it is primarily useful if you are attempting to write xml by hand.
CDATA sections can appear inside element content and allow and character literals to appear. A CDATA section begins with the character sequence . Between the two character sequences, an XML processor ignores all markup characters such as , and .
Well, XML files can be corrupted by viruses just like HTML and HTM files can and some viruses can corrupt both.
These characters can be represented using the following character substitutions: ● Ampersand () - amp; ● Less than () - gt; ● Quote () - quot; ● Apostrophe () - apos;
XML entities always start with an ampersand character and end with a semicolon character ;. The name of the entity is then between these two characters. For example, the entity lt; is used to represent the less-than character
