Simulate Paper Color. This setting converts the images on-screen white to match the color temperature of white on paper (which is equivalent to an absolute colorimetric conversion).
This 4 color screen printing process is typically performed on white or light-colored garments and will not produce prints with a high amount of color detail. Simulated Process printing goes above and beyond Four Color Process by blending in standard spot colors to achieve high amounts of photorealistic detail.
With the edited image open in Photoshop, go to Menu View Proof setup Custom. In the interface that appears, on the drop-down Device to Simulate menu, select the ICC profile relevant to the paper youre using. Choose Relative Colorimetric, tick Black Point Compensation and Simulate Paper Color, before clicking OK.
On the Format pop-up menu, select Photoshop EPS. Under Save Options, for Color, select the Use Proof Setup: Working CMYK check box. Digital color spaces are RGB-based and come in many different types, called ICC profiles. Printing profiles are CMYK-based and can even be multichannel, depending on how many colors are used. As you go through file color setup and create your print-ready file, we recommend using the CMYK color space.
Choose View Proof Colors to toggle the soft-proof display on and off. When soft proofing is on, a check mark appears next to the Proof Colors command, and the name of the proof preset or profile appears at the top of the document window.
