ePub files are often very large files, and email servers can have limits which may block the book from sending. ePub files are also essentially a zipped folder of many files, and sending by email can corrupt these files so they wont open.
Mainly, those EPUB files need to be free of digital rights management (DRM), so files bought from other stores that have been protected arent readable on Kindle. However, plenty of DRM-free EPUB books are available.
Create a new email in whatever email service you use (gmail, hotmail, etc.) Attached your EPUB file to the email. Send it to your @kindle.com email that you collected earlier.
This is generally caused by the files character encoding. Most EPUB files use UTF-8 encoding, but unless this is explicitly defined in the EPUB file, the Send to Kindle service will assume its ISO-8859-1 encoding which will lead to strange and unexpected formatting on the output file.
Some Kindle Books from your library (including many picture books, read-alongs, and graphic novels) arent supported on certain Kindle devices or reading apps. To see whether a Kindle Book is incompatible with your device or app, look for a Kindle restrictions link under Formats on the ebooks details page.
Alternatively, you can upload files to Play Books through Gmail. Attach the PDF or EPUB you want to upload to an email.
Kindle has never supported native epub files and native support for mobi ended some time ago. Simply use the send to Kindle service to send the epubs to your device.
Method #1 : Email the EPUB File to Your Kindle Address. The first method to upload your EPUB file to your Kindle, is to email it to your Kindle device. Since Kindle devices do not support EPUB files directly, you need to convert EPUB to Kindle-compatible formats like MOBI.
