If your Draw Tools are not showing, you can make them appear by pulling down the View menu, clicking on Toolbars and clicking on Drawing. Take a moment to look at the functions of the Draw Tools.
In Word 2010, there are no toolbars; they have been replaced with ribbons at the top of the screen. Note: If you do not see the Drawing Tools tab, make sure that you have inserted/selected a shape, line, or drawing object. You may have to double-click the object.
If your device is touch-enabled, the Draw tab is turned on automatically. Otherwise, turn it on by selecting File Options Customize Ribbon Draw.
When you click a picture, the Drawing Tools tab, rather than the Picture Tools tab, appears above the Format tab. Note: If you do not see either the Picture Tools or Drawing Tools tabs, make sure that you selected a picture, shape, or other object.
On the Insert tab, in the Illustrations group, click Shapes. Under Lines, do one of the following: To draw a shape that has both curved and straight segments, click Freeform.
On the Format tab, in the Insert Shapes group, expand the shapes options by clicking the arrow. Under Lines click Freeform or Scribble. Tip: To stop drawing with the Freeform or Scribble lines, double-click.
Open your Word document. Place your cursor where you would like to start your Word drawing and click. Click the Insert tab, then select the down caret on the Shapes button to open shape options.
